Freeview Focus on... Jessica-Jane Clement

20 January 2012

Model, presenter, actress and star of 2011’s I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here, Jessica-Jane Clement is back on our screens this month. Appearing in FHM’s Top 100 Sexiest Women, hosting her own show for BBC Three and presenting 11 whole series of The Real Hustle – it’s time to talk to Jessica-Jane about her TV world.

This month, The Real Hustle is back for a brand new series called Celebrity Chancers – what's it about?

This will be my 11th series of The Real Hustle and we have some amazing celebrity guests to help us scam the public! Each week, we bring in a celebrity and throw them in right at the deep end! This series we have Shayne Lynch, Gemma Atkinson, Sam Faiers and Adele Silva - they are all brilliant!

What’s the best thing about working on the show?

It's a great feeling at the end of the day when you know you've pulled off a good scam! After nearly eight years, I still get a real buzz from it - I think we all still do. I'm nowhere near as nervous as I used to be - now scamming seems second nature to me, I do it in my sleep!

The show is great for meeting men too, I've had a lot of phone numbers given to me throughout the years - I guess men just love being scammed by women! Of course, I've never taken anyone up on their offer!

To date, what’s the most impressive scam/trick you’ve seen?

I was at a charity event a few weeks ago and Dynamo was there. That man is incredible! And after a few drinks, he almost tricked me...but not quite. I'm the worst audience for a magician, all you'll hear me say is "You flicked it!".

You’ve appeared in Casualty, starred in I’m A Celebrity… and fronted a Skin Deep beauty documentary for BBC3. What is the most memorable moment of your TV career?

Without a doubt, it was taking part in 'I'm a Celebrity'. After a few emotional days at the start, I settled right in, and I have never felt so relaxed and content in all my life - I wanted to move my family in! It was also a great opportunity for The Real Hustle viewers and the lads-mag readers to see the real me, as my personality is never seen on the show. Fronting my own beauty show for BBC3 was also an amazing experience as it was something I was and still am very passionate about. And of course Real Hustle. I've grown from a girl into a woman whilst filming The Real Hustle, and we've definitely had our ups and our downs throughout the years! Looking back, I've learnt a lot about myself and the industry thanks to the series so I'll always be grateful.

What’s your favourite TV moment of all time?

It would have to be when Susan Boyle was in the final on Britain's Got Talent. My fiancé and I actually bought the buzzers and were playing along with a few drinks! Also, I was a massive Fawlty Towers fan and I loved the episode when Basil was secretly betting on horses and ended up giving his winnings to the old dear. "Is this a piece of your brain?!" Hahaha

Which television series do you think of as ‘Unmissable TV’ and why?

I am a MASSIVE fan of Keeping up with the Kardashians on 4Music, so I have recorded the whole series, even though I always make sure I'm in to watch it! I think its wonderful to see three full figured women flaunting their curves and having fun with it; it's refreshing. I love how close the family are and the drama never ends, it's so entertaining. I am also very proud to say that I have turned my fiancé, Lee Stafford, into an avid viewer and he is so excited to see why Kim and Chris' marriage broke down in the next series!

Tell us which shows you are watching and recording at the moment?

Celebrity Big Brother  on Channel 5 is the only show for me at the moment! I'm absolutely hooked! I already think either Natalie Cassidy or Gareth Thomas are going to win. It's so funny seeing how people act around one another and it gets really entertaining after a few days because the bitching and arguing start, it’s TV GOLD!

Which actor/actress would you most like to work with and why?

I'd love to work with Alan Rickman because his voice is mesmerising - there is no one like him. I'd also love to work with Justin Lee Collins as he seems like such a giggle and really down to earth. You can’t beat a bit of West Country, ooh aaaargh!

Tell us your guilty TV pleasure?

I don't think you can get more guilty than Celebrity Big Brother and Keeping Up with the Kardashians! I do like watching old episodes of Airline on Pick TV, it makes me think of going on holiday!

Who was your childhood TV hero and why?

I was obsessed with Topanga from Boy Meets World when I was young. I thought she was stunning and I loved her thick hair as mine was so thick at the time and I hated it. I would watch the episodes all day for the entire weekend. I even wanted to change my name to Topanga, but that was taking it a bit too far!

When was the last time TV made you cry?

It was when I watched my fiancé's episode of Channel 4’s The Secret Millionaire, he was incredible and it was so emotional, I was literally shaking when it was over!

Tell us something we would never know about you.

I am deaf in my right ear. Surround sound is wasted on me!

Now Freeview HD is available across the UK, which part of your body would you least likely to see in high definition?

Oh dear, it would have to be my split ends!

The Real Hustle: Celebrity Chancers starts at 8.30pm on Friday 27th January on BBC Three.
